The Millwood Project

The Millwood Project has been a tried and tested successful intervention project that has been running for the last 8 years at Millwood School.  The demand for supportive and direct CPD has grown year on year.  This year we are proud to launch a package of CPD training and a bespoke outreach service.

The Millwood Project offers TA support in Millwood school.  This is a visit to school to see how successful intervention is implemented within the classroom.  Currently there is no charge for this service.  Please complete the application for that can be found on our school website.

The Millwood Project Outreach offers bespoke support charged at a competitive rate with a targeted intervention plan for TAs to develop their knowledge and skills to support the child or children that they are working with.  We are different to other training providers as we are mentoring and coaching the staff directly to support individual pupils.  What we can’t do is assess the level of need and make suggestions for provisions or offer a placement.  A session (morning or afternoon) would cost £100, no transport costs are charged.  This includes meeting the child and teaching assistant, general observations and a mentoring/coaching session by a qualified coach from Millwood to set professional targets for the teaching assistant to develop their skills in supporting specific pupils. The school would need to be able to release the teaching assistant during this time. A half hour teams session would also follow this visit.

Please get in touch via millwoodoffice@bury.gov.uk if this is something you wish to discuss.
