ST GEORGE'S DAY

Whitelow 5 had lots of fun learning about St George’s Day! The children are continuing to develop their physical development skills, and enjoyed dressing up as knights and building castles. In maths, we engaged in '5 Little Dragons' number song and did some excellent counting and numeral formation! In English, we loved listening to 'Zog the Dragon' sensory story and exploring all of the props. Watch out for the flying dragon Whitelow 5! We also had lots of fun exploring dragon eggs. First, we used hammers to hatch open the frozen dragon eggs to find the baby dragons hidden inside. Next, we made our own dragon eggs by using a spoon to crack the eggshells and put them in water mixed with food colouring. Once the dragon eggs were ready, we then had our own dragon egg and spoon races in PE.

Super learning Whitelow 5!

Children enjoyed sharing stories in a cosy reading corner in every class, we had a remote DEAR (drop everything and read) session with some rather cheeky stories including My Bum is so Noisy! The highlight of our week was World Book Day when we dressed up as our favourite characters from books. We had tigers, penguins and Mary Poppins to name just a few! Look at the pictures from this fantastic week.

ARTICLE 14 FREEDOM OF THOUGHT, BELIEF AND RELIGION- Every child has the right to think and believe what they choose and also to practise their religion, as long as they are not stopping other people from enjoying their rights. Governments must respect the rights and responsibilities of parents to guide their child as they grow up.
